When it comes to skincare, I’ve become so obsessed with it over the past couple of years. I never really looked into skincare much, and always thought make up wipes will do the job. Quick, easy and cheap. It wasn’t until around two years ago that I read, make up wipes don’t remove your make up. It basically just removes the top layer.
So since that big discovery, I’ve tried Garnier, L’Oreal, Glossier, The Body Shop and loads more. Some have worked for me, some have become sensitive after months of using, and some just never worked from get go. However, recently I was gifted some Dermalogica products and my oh my – it’s like a mini facial at home.
Here above I have the pre cleanse, special cleansing gel, daily microfoliant, skin smoothing cream and the skin perfect primer. From removing make up and dirt, stripping the skin with exfoliating and priming the skin – I’ve got you covered.
Pre cleanse ~ Pre what? I’ve never heard of it neither. I’ve always cleansed my skin once, or twice when I’ve wanted more of a pamper. So this removes/melts away any make up and impurities. You apply this to dry skin and let it melt into the skin, then you add a little warm water to your hands. Continuing to massage your skin it will create a milky liquid to then wash off with a warm flannel.
It even removes waterproof mascara, so there’s no need to try and tackle that mascara that won’t budge. With the pre cleanse and the cleansing gel for afters, you’re skin feels like it’s had it’s very own mini facial.
Special cleansing gel ~ Along with using the pre cleanse and then this special cleansing gel ~ hello baby skin. It’s soap free and is suitable for all of us – oily, combination, sensitive, dry, you name it. It’s a product that we all can use and will get along with. It removes impurities without disturbing the skins natural moisture balance. It’s not harsh at all and it leaves your skin feeling super clean.
Daily microfoliant ~ This was something that was really interesting to me. I’ve never used anything like it before. So basically you wet your hands and apply around half a teaspoon amount which creates a creamy paste. It becomes a exfoliating cream that evens out the skin pigmentation and makes your skin appear brighter and smooth. You’re skin is feeling and looking refreshed and clean.
Skin smoothing cream ~ Wow oh wow, your skin feels smooth as ****. Massaging this onto your face and also your neck it leaves your skin feeling super smooth and fresh. It’s non greasy and leaves your skin feeling hydrated. Forget about all those moisturizers and primers for setting your base, with this and the perfect primer – you are looking flawless.
Skin perfect primer ~ When it comes to primers, when SPF is included within the same product – it’s a massive light bulb for me. SPF is so important within our skincare routine, summer or winter. With the natural minerals it gives your skin a little tint of colour, along with radiance. It’s the perfect base for make up and giving that lasting make up we all wish for. Or wearing it alone for moisture to the skin and also luminosity.
Considering I’ve got combination skin, and I certainly suffer with sensitive skin – Dermalogica has struck me as a brand I wish I tried and tested sooner. It’s the brand that I’ve never seen much hype about, unless it’s been in the hair/beauty salon window. I’ve always described many brands of skincare like a mini pamper/facial at home, but this really gives you that. Your skin is left feeling silky smooth and clean like it should after a facial that’s cost you £50 in a salon.
I’d highly recommend this to friends and also family when they next visit the salon and asking for samples. I’d also recommend this to anyone who is thinking of having a facial as I know Dermalogica is used in many salons for facials.
So there we have it. A brand that I never looked twice at, but now a brand I’d twice buy.
