Let’s get chatting.
So this week has just passed and I madly got invited to go over to Brighton for an event with Pixi Petra Beauty. This wasn’t just any event though, this was a sit down dinner and oh my gosh – it was insane. Lol, me got invited? I know. I thought the exact same. Amanda and Holly was there and they went through the new collection, and hello new tonics. *heart eye emoji inserted here.* I’ve already tried out a few of the products and yes a review will be coming shortly. But honestly the sit down dinner was probably the best thing I’ve ever been to and done throughout my whole journey of blogging.
Getting that Instagram fashion photo.
Something I get asked quite often is having the confidence of getting that shot for instagram. Adding more photos of me in front of the camera, and having to pose and find locations wasn’t something I thought I’d be heading out to do every Saturday and Sunday. So here’s three things that are key to me when taking full length photos and outfit shots.
- Location, location, location. I have places where is my safety net. I will always go to these places if I don’t have a lot of time, are close by and also I know I will get the photo I am expecting. When you are looking for locations – background is key. You don’t want a graffiti wall or something that is a highly distracting from your outfit. I always rely on colourful walls, flowers, and standing in the middle of the road without getting run over. You need it simple. Another thing with location it’s also shade. Direct sunlight and shooting photos doesn’t always go.
- Sunglasses. I never shoot without sunglasses, even if it is 99% cloud. Sunglasses in a must. I’m a bit of a frowner when it comes to the smallest bit of sunlight, and hello we don’t want to look like a grumpy child in our photos. Plus they hide my face and kind of make me feel more confident like I am invisible. Don’t ask, it just works. Believe me.
- Iphone. I never use either of my two cameras. It’s always my iPhone. It’s quick and it’s easy, no faffing around with settings on the camera. iPhone cameras are pretty epic now, and they are a lot more raw, real and fresh than my camera is. I find out that a lot more bloggers use their iPhone these days over their funky, expensive cameras anyway. It’s more easier to be walking down the high street or somewhere and suddenly saying ‘Ooo quick get a photo of me here in front of this flower wall’.
What I’m loving to wear this season.
I’ve got a massive obsession with cosy knitwear at the moment. I’m the biggest I’ve ever been in my life as I’m in this comfortable relationship, that *hello talk about letting yourself go.* Knitwear is something that is so easy, but this October weather is a little confused don’t you think? It’s too sweaty to be wearing any knitwear, so I’ve been switching those days with a simple slogan tee and a blazer. Blazers you can either dress up or down, and Primark and F&F Clothing are my two favourite for finding that perfect fitted blazer. Along with this I am loving straight, cropped leg jeans and New Look Harlow jeans are the one. They’re stretchy, comfy and look good with a top tucked in or a cropped jumper out. Along with chunky heeled boots, that’s my go to autumnal outfit this season.
I hope you enjoyed this style of post.
Got that newsletter feel to it, but three/ or more topics I want to chat about.
