When it comes to going abroad on a Summer holiday – make up isn’t such a big deal for me. I like to keep things basic and show off any natural tan I can get. However, this trip to Italy isn’t just any other holiday ~ it’s for my best friends wedding which is super exciting. When it comes to the wedding day I want my skin to be glowing, long lasting and also very warming with a bronzed look.
So here’s my must haves..
Starting off with my eyes, I love the Toofaced Shadow Insurance. It’s super light weight on the lids of your eyes and keeps shadow in place all day. When your eye shadow is applied there is no creases and there’s no fading. It grabs the pigment of the shadow and helps intense the pigment. I’m not someone who uses eyeshadow primer very often, but for a big and long event – I want to help my make up stay in place as much as I can. For my eyes on the wedding day I am going to be using my new favourite, the Urban Decay Back Talk palette. The shades are warming to the skin and the pigment is there. It’s a gorgeous combination of shades that will match perfectly to the dresses. You have a mixture of shimmers to mattes to create a highlight in the corners of my eyes and also deeper pinks/purples to create a smokey eye look but not making it so heavy looking. I also love how there’s blushers within the palette so there’s two purposes within one palette. Highlight too and it’s super pretty! For an alternative on evenings, I’m also taking the Glossier Lidstar shadows which give a gorgeous shimmer/shine to your lids. They blend out really nicely and give a more natural look which is my go to for the evenings.
Onto the face, I’m taking the Toofaced Setting Powder which of course is very much needed. This is my go to when it comes to setting powders, and believe me it’s amazing. It keeps your make up in place, and it doesn’t leave your skin looking cakey. Just flawless. It also leaves your skin matte, so oil/sweat will be controlled. For the contour I’ll be using my trust worthy Maybelline Master Sculpt Kit. It’s warming to the skin and you can build this up to create a more defined look. It looks natural and blends out really well so there’s no harsh lines. It’s just a shame that they don’t sell the contour individually from the highlight as I don’t get any use out of it what so ever. Then for the gorgeous glow, I am obsessed with the Girls With Attitude Liquid Glow Illuminator. I’ve never been a fan of any liquid highlight, but this has changed my opinion. I have the two shades which are Rose Glow and Champagne Opal. They’re pigmented and also blend out really well considering it’s liquid. You can build this up, where as I like to keep it light as I like more a natural glow. The wedding is outside, and I want that shine to be bouncing off my face and blinding everyone because you know, a girl gotta be glowing.
Of course there will be more products along the way!
If you could choose just one make up product for your holiday, which would it be?
Mine would have to be Mascara! Opens the eyes with a gorgeous tan and giving my skin a break from products.
