Skincare for myself only really got serious once I got to around 19/20 years old. I’ve always used facial wipes, and facial wipes only. I’ve had many reactions from face wipes, but Simple became my go to’s. They were always soft on the face, and I generally thought they removed all make up. However, they don’t. They really only remove the first layer of your make up and any dirt, and really just smudge whatever is in your skin around your face. They don’t remove the whole lot, it looks like it does but you could use cleanser/face wash afterwards and still have plenty of make up on your pads.
Now at the age of 24 years of age, I use the whole sha-bam! Facial wash, cleansers, toners, masks, oils and moisturisers. I’ve seen a huge difference in my skin, and honestly I’d never go back to using face wipes unless I was going for a one night stay somewhere and had limited packing space because ~ this girl needs her make up more than skincare.
So here’s what’s in the skincare basket..
Caudalie Glycolic Peel | A product that you use twice a week, and takes ten minutes to work it’s magic. It reduces the visibility of pores, clears your complexion and leaves your skin refreshed. It’s named as a ‘peel’ but you wash this off with water or a facial cloth, there’s no actual peeling. It’s a very quick and an easy mask which gives an instant smooth finish, and brighter skin.
Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser | A foam cleanser which I don’t hate! It’s more of a second cleanse for my Caudalie oil based cleanser. It’s gentle on the skin, it’s drying on the skin which works wonders for my oily t-zone. This is where I’d have to use a creamy moisturiser/oil to then add moisture back into my skin. So if you have dry skin, I’d say this wouldn’t work on you. This is more of a facial cleanser too, as I don’t feel like it removes mascara as well as I’d like. But for a foam cleanser ~ I’m not disappointed.
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser | My favourite morning cleanser, smells refreshing – the perfect ‘wake me up’. It’s gentle on the skin and is left feeling refreshed and smooth. It leaves my skin feeling super clean and creates the perfect canvas for the rest of my morning routine.
Glossier Priming Moisturiser | My go to primer at the moment, it’s a thick primer from what I’d normally use but it keeps make up in place all day. It’s really hydrating on the skin and gives a dewy finish with foundation. It’s the perfect base/canvas for any make up.

L’Oreal Kiwi Scrub | Something new to my collection, a scrub. I love it so much that I’ve bought another to add to my collection. This is the Kiwi scrub, and believe me ~ it smells incredible. This isn’t any scrub, it’s a sugar scrub. It contains three different sugars : ~ White Sugar; melts on the skin whilst gently buffing away impurities ~ Blonde Sugar; a natural moisturiser ~ Brown Sugar; rich in minerals that help stregthen the skin barrier. After use, the texture of my skin is left smooth and fresh.
Dr Roebucks Reverse Ageing Serum | A brand I’ve not heard of before until now, this serum is super gentle on my skin and leaves it with a smooth finish. So this reverse ageing serum reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots for refreshed and awakened skin. It leaves your skin plumped, hydrated and smooth.
Caudalie Make Up Removing Cleansing Oil | My favourite PM cleanser at the moment. It melts away make up and any dirt, and removes a good amount for 2/3 pumps over the face. It’s gentle on the eyes, so removing eye make up isn’t any problem. Sometimes I have to go over my lashes with Garnier Micellar Water as I don’t like to go too rough around my eyes and risk loosing any lashes. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean, for the rest of my skincare routine.
Origins Matte Moisturiser | My go to morning moisturiser either along with the Glossier Priming Moisturiser or without. It’s oil free and instantly boosts moisture. It refines texture, minimises pores, and controls shine. My skin is left soft, smooth and vibrant. Perfect moisturiser for make up application or to go bare faced.
The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Control Gel Cream | A lightweight gel which helps balance out oil and sebum. The gel absorbs into your skin quite promptly, and is left matte. My make up stays put within my oily t zone which is incredible even when it comes to wearing my specs. If you suffer with oily skin ~ you need to give this a try. The scent isn’t too strong, it’s not a long lasting scent.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream | The vitamin E range has been a favourite of mine since I discovered I had sensitive skin. It’s the perfect evening moisturiser, it’s gentle on the skin and is rich and creamy but doesn’t leave your skin sticky/oily. I love the simple, and light scent within the cream so it’s not harsh on the skin. I go through this pot quite quickly as I like to smother it on for it to also act as a overnight mask, I wake up with hydrated skin ready for my morning pamper.
Dr Roebucks Protect & Prevent Serum | Another Dr Roebucks serum which leaves my skin feeling healthy and revitalised. The serum is also quite moisturising and brightens my skin, and leaves it with a gorgeous smooth finish. The only downside to this product is the pump doesn’t really suck up enough product where the serum is quite thick, but it evenly absorbs into the skin and is light weight once applied.
Caudalie Overnight Detox Oil | An oil which I’m in love with, although the scent isn’t my favourite. There’s no sticky finish with this oil, it absorbs nice and quickly into the skin and leaves my skin feeling amazing. I apply this before my overnight moisturiser to allow it to detoxify and leave my complexion refreshed.
