When Glossier first got released, nothing really jumped out on me and neither did the brand itself. However, it didn’t take long for me to make my way through. (It doesn’t usually take me long with new make up and skin care, I’m usually one of those jumping on the bandwagons!) Sometimes with new beauty products/brands ~ the packaging will need to make a good impression, I think when a brand really goes into thought of their packaging – then I always wonder if what’s inside will keep up the good expectations. Glossier was one of those brands. I love the colour scheme of the products and their brand and how simple it is. I think that’s what appeals to a lot of people first. I love how they do a good even amount of skincare as well as make up, and even their delivery packaging is a staple.
So when you purchase from Glossier you get the products stored in a pink pouch, which is amazing for products to go into your handbag on the go. (Don’t want to worry about any products leaking!) Or even for travelling aboard, make up bags are always handy. I think it’s a good touch, because I’ve realised that some other brands have started this too.
But let’s start talking about the products, let’s kick this off with make up first..
Glossier Lidstars | So if you haven’t seen it already, I did a full review of these before hand which you can find here. But just for a quick idea of what I have to say about these now after continuous use. Yes, I use these daily for my make up, as these are subtle – but they give a gorgeous shine. I love using these shades together, it makes the perfect combo. For these to be £15 each, or £25 for two. They are pretty pricey for what they are. I think just because they’re Glossier – it’s ok for you to purchase these for this price. However, if a brand like L’Oreal sold these for the same price – it’d be a whole other story. Although I love the applicator, as you can apply this and be done with your eyeshadow within minutes. They blend out really nicely, and they’re also long lasting without creasing. Would I buy more? I’m pretty obsessed with Cub and Slip, and I’m ok with just these two.
Glossier Boy Brow | Ok, so this is number one. This has to be my most favourite product EVER. I use this alone, or along with a pomade to set my brows in place. They do not budge all day! What I like about this is that it holds your brows in place, but it doesn’t flake or stiffen in anyway. When it comes to using this alone, it leaves my brows looking very natural and fills in anywhere that I’m missing a hair or three! I will forever repurchase this, again and again.
Glossier Haloscope | Ok, so this isn’t within the photos but I do own this in the shade Quartz. This was one of my first Glossier purchases, and it’s the one product I never reach for. I find that the pigment isn’t as strong compared to cheaper alternatives, and when I do build up the product – it goes patchy on the skin. I’ve tried applying this with my finger, and also a beauty blender and none of them worked. A brush? I don’t think I’d get much of a better outcome – I reckon I’d be worse off. So this is a big fat no from me.
Moving onto skincare..
Glossier Moon Mask | If you need hydration, Moon Mask is the one. I have oily/normal skin (oily t-zone), this fixes my skin and leaves it looking hydrated and also with a fresh face. I like to apply a thick layer and leave it on for 20 minutes, to get the best result. No irritation on the skin if you do decide to leave it on for longer, as sometimes the longer you leave a mask – the better the results. This mask is going to become more of a favourite with the warmer months coming along, as my skin is left looking glowy and bright after use and we all need that for the Summer glow.
Glossier Dotcom Balm | For a lip balm, yes this is expensive. It’s £10 when you could go and get any lip balm similar, and it would cost you half the price. I have the flavour Birthday and it does smell really nice, and leaves my lips super soft. It’s not sticky on the lips, but it leaves a gorgeous shine to your lips too which I think is really nice when it comes to a ‘no make up’ look. For less money I’d repurchase, but for a product I could just go pick up in Superdrug/Home Bargains for the same outcome – it isn’t worth the splurge. But it does smell incredible, just remember that.
Glossier Priming Moisturiser | A primer I’m constantly using right now. It’s a creamy consistency, and it’s quite thick so a lot goes a long way. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated, and it’s the perfect base to any foundation – especially the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. It’s the perfect combo! It’s light weight on the skin, and it keeps my foundation in place which is a total bonus when your a specs wearer. I’ve seen many reviews on this causing people to have rashes, however I suffer with sensitive skin and I’ve not any problems.
Glossier Solution | A product which got everyone wanting it, but so many people spoke bad about it. However, this product works wonders on my skin. For starters, the solution did give a tingly feeling on my skin, but after a week or so using this – it made my skin G L O W. The appearance of redness reduced massively, and I felt comfortable to actually walk about with no make up on. I don’t suffer with problematic skin, however for these reasons – it’s a perfect solution to my problems. I have a full review here.
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser | A cleanser which is my go to for my AM skincare routine. It’s got a lovely scent to it, and it’s also refreshing on the skin for the mornings. It’s the perfect wake up call. It’s gentle to your eyes and doesn’t irritate which is amazing, as I’ve gone through many cleansers which do irritate. It leaves my skin feeling super clean, and creates the perfect canvas for the rest of my morning routine.
