We all know how important evening skincare is, but morning skincare is also just as important. Morning skincare is all about protecting and preventing your skin throughout your daily routine. Moisturising is my favourite part of my skincare routine, as it leaves your skin feeling fresh and hydrated. So it’s preventing your skin from drying out and also hydrating your skin so it doesn’t appear dull.
I have four of my total favourites when it comes to moisturising in the AM..
The Origins Matte Moisturiser | For starters, let’s just say that this moisturiser smells pretty amazing. It’s smells fruity, citrous and fresh. This has became an everyday staple within my morning skincare routine. It instantly gives my skin a clean and soft finish, leaving my skin velvety. It feels super hydrating on the skin and it works amazing for my oily T-Zone. It doesn’t leave your skin looking greasy or shiny, it instantly mattifies your skin and dries into the skin quickly.
The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Control Gel Cream | So this moisturiser is for combination – to oily skin. It has a refreshing/light weight moisture and doesn’t smell as bad as you’d think – with it being seaweed! However once it’s been applied it does smell a little sea weed/fishy but it’s not a lingering smell. (If it did, believe me I’d have thrown it out the window by now!) It smells fresh and clean. This cream oil balances your skin leaving it with a matte finish. It’s a thin texture and absorbs quite quickly. My oily skin is protected and kept at bay.
L’Oreal Hydra Genius | Of course, it’s been a favourite of ours since it first got released. Compared to the Origins Matte Moisturiser ~ this is the perfect alternative but for the more dewy look. So I use the moisturiser which is for dry/sensitive skin and it works wonders for my sensitive skin. It’s super hydrating, and a little goes a long way ~ although I do manage to go through it pretty quickly. I think for when I go away on summer holidays this is the most hydrating out of the four and I’d recommend this to anyone. It’s not sticky, it smells pretty good and sometimes I replace this for my moisturiser or use another as well for other benefits for my skin. It leaves your skin glowing, so this would work perfectly if you’re more of a natural girl who doesn’t bother with make up mid-week like me!
Glossier Priming Moisturiser | My newest favourite to the collection. It gives my skin a natural glow and leaves it looking pretty darn fresh. The texture of my skin feels incredible after application, and there’s no scent with this product. It’s the most thickest out of the four, and looks more like a cream than a primer/moisturiser. Where the moisturiser is pretty thick, once again ~ a little goes a long way. Also if you use the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation – this and the Glosser Primer makes the perfect pair. So that’s all four of my go to’s for my AM moisturiser. As I’ve said before I suffer with sensitive skin and I haven’t had any break outs/reactions to any of these products. You have the more luxury/expensive moisturisers as well as the cheaper alternatives. (The Body Shop/L’Oreal being the cheaper out of the four.)
