My Evening Routine

Evening Skincare Routine

Evening Skincare Routine Skincare Skincare for sensitive skin

When it comes to the evening after a long day of work or a busy weekend, there’s nothing quite better than a total pamper. Whether you go all out and have candles, face masks and chocolate *of course* ~ or whether you just have a bubble bath after a long day. There’s nothing that can beat that feeling of having a little time alone, relaxing and ignoring everything else going on around you.

Every week day after work I always allow myself a relaxing bath, whether that’s sponsoring my bath by Lush or just throwing in some shower gel to get the bubbles. I always like having that half hour of me time where I can open up a new chapter of my new book, or just to close my eyes and zone out.

Sundays are the best days for a pamper, and every Sunday that is my pamper day. Whether I’m throwing on a face mask in the morning whilst ticking off a few things on my to-do list or treating my skin to a full skincare routine Sunday evening before the working week ahead.

That’s exactly what I’m talking about within this post today, my evening routine ~ my skincare I swear by everyday.

Garnier Micellar Water & Make Up Remover | I love to use this for removing my eye make up. I apply some of this to a cotton pad, and press it against my lashes and shadow to soak up all the make up. I like to press this onto my eyes as you’re eye area is super tender, and the skin is really quite thin. This way you’re also not pulling out any lashes when wiping away. Not only does this remove make up, but it also removes any dirt within your skin and also oil. Sometimes when I have a heavier make up look I will use this all over my face too, as it leaves my skin looking refreshed and clean.

Lush Cosmetics Eau Roma Water | This is a toner, which I’ve been using for the last 2 months I’d say. You only need a good five sprays I’d say onto a cotton pad to remove any left over make up or impurities. I have super sensitive skin when it comes to skin care products and this works wonders for my skin. The rose water is for reducing any redness, whilst the lavender is for balancing and softening the skin. It leaves my skin looks super hydrated, and this is also a product which I’d travel with as it’s so refreshing for a little pick me up.

Garnier Natural Rose Cleansing Milk  | This has been my go to since forever. The reason I love this cleanser so much and I’m forever repurchasing it ~ it works wonders for sensitive skin. With cream based cleansers too, it saves all the washing it off malarky. The natural rose is for it’s soothing power, but it also removes any make up and impurities. This is also good for anyone who suffers with dry skin, as it really hydrates and gives a gorgeous refreshed look. Can’t have softer skin than when I do when using this cleanser.

Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream | This cream I use as a moisturiser but also for an overnight mask. Just before tucking up in bed, I always apply a thick-ish layer of this cream over my face to soak in throughout the night. It doesn’t have a seaweed scent to it, but it has a refreshing/clean smell to it. This has controlled my oily T-Zone for a long time now, and it also leaves my skin looking very refreshed which is perfect for the following morning. It leaves the texture of my skin really even and soft, however this is not a cream which I’d use at the beginning of my day as it’s quite thick. It’s certainly an evening kind of routine product.

What’s your go to for overnight skincare?

I never was interested in my skincare when I was growing up and in my teens. It was always make up wipes! However, now I’m obsessed with it! I love treating my skin xx

Lovely products you’ve mentioned! I have been wanting to try the Garnier Cleansing Milk for a while but couldn’t decide on the Rose one or the Honey one. And the Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream sounds great as I also have an oily forehead and chin.

I went for the Rose one as it’s good for sensitive skin! I think the honey one is maybe for dry skin. For Mario Badescu – I’m obsessed with the seaweed night cream but I want to get my hands on another night cream as I’m nearly out! xx

I also have Seaweed Night Cream and Peptide Renewal Cream and I find that Seaweed one is much better from Mario Badescu. From texture to smell to results and price as well. I will be definitely buying again!

I need to mix up my skincare routine a bit, while I’ve stripped it down to the bare minim I feel like I need to get prepared for the changing of the seasons. Plus I always find my skin gets used to products too quickly and they become less effective.

I do find my skin gets use to some products, but I’m always scared for a change. These products have always been so good with my skin and where it’s sensitive – I’ve never had any problems. Once I see results within skincare, I never want to change it incase my skin goes the total opposite xx
