The Most Talked About Foundation Review

Hello beauties.

So if you haven’t seen this foundation already, then where have you been hiding? Under a rock?

The Ordinary are pretty good going with the beauty bloggers community, everyone loves them and that everyone includes me. From their skincare to haircare – I totally love.

I have purchased and tried and tested both Foundations from The Ordinary, which are the Coverage Foundation & Serum Foundation. I love one and hate the other.

Coverage Foundation | So I purchased this in store over in Covent Gardens – London. The store is pretty small, and blimey – it was busy. I just swatched some of the foundation onto my neck/jaw line and my partner said it’s a good match, so of course – I trusted him. However, it was far too light for my skin but I just added The Body Shop Darkening Drops to the foundation, to create the perfect shade. However, this foundation just didn’t work for me. I just felt like applying it with either a beauty blender or a make up brush – it just didn’t sit on my skin well. I felt like it wouldn’t blend in, and would just literally sit on the skin and you could visibly see the foundation. The coverage done nothing for my skin neither, which was so disappointing as I know this one is a lot more popular than the Serum foundation. I even used it without the drops in case that’s what was effecting the foundation, however the same result – utter crap.

Serum Foundation | I am obsessed with this foundation, as well as the fact it’s the perfect shade for my skin tone! I don’t think the foundation is full coverage, I’d say more of a light to medium coverage and you can build it up for a higher coverage. It blends out really nicely onto the skin, and I use a beauty blender to do so. I feel like it’s long lasting on the skin, and gives a satin finish. However, after using powder it goes a gorgeous matte finish. It’s super light weight on the skin, and doesn’t go cakey at all. I’ve seen a lot of people say their skin has flared up using this, however I suffer with very sensitive skin and I’ve had no problems with it at all. I’d highly recommend this foundation out of the two and would repurchase.

Have you tried these foundations? What’s your favourite one, out of the two?

I keep hearing such mixed reviews of these, quite like your review now! I cannot make up my mind on them! 🙁 I love the shade range, and the price – im just not sure if I would love the product 🙁

This is interesting! I do hear people saying they don't get on with the coverage foundation, which is annoying as it sounds like it would be the better one! Do love The Ordinary though xx
