Whether you’ve been blogging for a week or 3 years, it’s so so tempting to just purchase everything everyone uses and raves about. Every blogger is secretly a shopping addict. Whether your purchasing items/products for your blog orrrrrr blog props for your photos or even a new camera!
When I first started blogging, I wanted everything. I wanted the newest Olympus Pen out, I wanted the newest Mac book going, and I wanted to own as much make up as I possibly could. I’m such a sucker for spending money.
Did I get all of this? No. Because, everyone always says with anything – don’t go rushing into anything. I never in a million years, when I started – thought I’d be here now. I’m one of them people that just get into things, get all these ideas and whatever else and the ideas only get written on paper. They never follow through, I always give up and quit.
I am such a quitter.
The amount of times when I use to tell my friends/family/partner that I’d give up smoking and never did. (I have now!!) But, I use to say it all the time and then quit – quitting smoking. I’m terrible at it, that’s why I never tell people I’m going on a diet because that never sticks! I just say ‘I’m eating healthy from now’. That doesn’t mean I can’t sneak a few custard creams down my throat.
Anyway, back to the 5 best investments I have made so far through blogging..
My Nikon Camera.
This is no fancy camera, it doesn’t really do much – but it does what I need it to do! You have a few different settings, for example there’s one you can use for selfies and there’s ones for close zoom ins and etc. What brought my attention to this camera, is the screen. You can put it all different angles and seriously – I get into some awkward positions when trying to take product photos. It’s sooooo handy. Also the zoom in photos, I’m loving at the moment. Zoom into the products/items and stand far away and it really just makes your photo more crisp. I’d recommend any camera which has this feature because it’s the best thing ever. I’d love to get my hands on some fancy Olympus pen or something similar, but that will be next year maybe!!
Lol, yes just white card. I never thought I’d ever need white/colour card so much in my life. It makes the perfect backgrounds for flatlay photos and I am obsessed with flatlays right now. OBSESSED. I get mine from the range, because they’re super big! The bigger – the better. The more you can fit in!
Mac Book Air
Never in a million years, when I started blogging – I’d ever think of purchasing a Mac Book. A lot of bloggers use Mac Books, and I can totally understand why. They’re just made for bloggers. Where ever I go, whether it’s down Liverpool to see my partners family or on random trips or even to work. I take it with me. If I know I can get on it and do stuff, I’ll take it with me. I don’t care about carrying it around – I’ll take it. A lot of people get Mac Books on finance, which is such a good idea and I’d have so totally done this. However, I was lucky enough my partner put money towards it for my birthday/Christmas present (they’re so close together.) Which meant, I just had to put around £500 towards it. It’s honestly, hands down the BEST thing I’ve ever purchased. I know they’re hell pricey, but god damn it they are so worth it. You wouldn’t regret it. However, if you do have one now or going to purchase one GET INSURANCE. Even if you can get it under house insurance!!
Pipdig Blog Layout
Pipdig is so trusty, and I can totally rely on them. Their layouts are oh so gorgeous as well. You just purchase a layout, include if you want them to set it all up for you and waaaalaa in just 3/5 days I think it is, it’s all done! You have a whole new blog to play around with. I repurchase a new blog layout maybe every year? I think that way it’s really nice to have a fresh look. I love it when it’s all done and you can play around with colours and things. If you have any queries about anything – they’re so helpful too and you can get hold of them just over on their Twitter. They’re super quick to help you out.
Boots Advantage Card
Oh holy shit, I cannot wait to for Christmas to come round – I’m going to have so many points on there it’s going to be like shopping galore without spending any money! I am mainly a high-street type of beauty blogger. I so prefer going into store, and being able to pick up what I want and BAM get the camera out and the laptop open. I’m so impatient when it comes to beauty products and getting my hands on them. I must go into Boots at least every two weeks, and as soon as I have walked out the shop – I am looking at how many points I have this time round. It’s literally a five minute drive in the car from work, and I go there a lot for lunch time meal deals and the make up stalls are right at the main doors. IT’S SO DIFFICULT.
