Hello to all of you beautiful little gems.
Can I start of by saying, thank you for coming to visit this page. Thank you for coming to have a read. I’ve been so quiet lately, life is getting in the way and I am trying to make things more fun and exciting for you all. I have recently created a new Instagram for all my make up looks which you can find here. I just want to venture out to more fun things and create some fun looks. Make up is my life. I actually love it. I’m looking to start courses soon, so watch out!
This day last week, I went to my first Beauty Event with Capital South Coast! I was so so so excited and wanting to go, that I decided to take my Mother and we made a pretty good girly evening out of it! I finished work, got myself all ready and then we headed down to Gunwharf Quays and got ourselves a naughty Nando’s platter and did a little bit of shopping & nosing around.
If you haven’t been to Gunwharf Quays before, then you need to if your within Portsmouth or the surrounding areas. It’s an outlet shopping centre that has stores such as : Micheal Kors, The Cosmetic Company Store, Calvin Klein, The Body Shop, Kurt Geiger, The White Company and more. There are such a fab range of shops here, and blimey it’s bloody popular! There’s always a fab range of restaurants and bars where you can pick up some breakfast/lunch or dinner. Such as : Nando’s, Coast to Coast, Tiger Tiger, Bella Italia, Subway and shit me – so many more.
So after we had spent what we had, we decided to head our way to the Spinnaker Tower – where the event was taking place. It’s basically 170 metres high above the Portsmouth Harbour and Solent. It’s the most perfect place for this event. The weather wasn’t too bad, a little cloudy but it was perfect with the stunning views.
Everything started off downstairs at the event, they had all the beauty brands set up as little stalls where you could go around and have a look. Maybe even purchase something! So the brands they had were : Urban Decay, The Body Shop, Loreal, Lush and a few more. They also had treatment stalls, where Salons around the area came in with what they could offer. You could get your eye brows done, your hair done and have some skin treatment with the funky equipment that they have. There was also a Photo Booth, which was a mirror and you could edit your photos with filters and writing! You received a naughty glass of Prosecco, which I couldn’t say no to. You could pick up some goody bags, which had testers to try out and pick up samples of products. I picked up The Body Shop lighting drops and I’m still yet to give this a try.
Whilst all of that is going on, you could speak to some new people, sit outside and look out onto the view and just really enjoy yourself.
After all of that, they had some talks going on – on the highest floor of the building. Shamefully I couldn’t stay that long as my parking was a little over the top! Where we went for dinner before and shopping, it was already six pounds by the time I left at 9. *It didn’t finish until 10.30.*
Although, I wasn’t there I was totally cheering Alice from AnnieWritesBeauty, as she’s incredible at what she does and she deserves to be listened to, and to influence others. There was also Alice who is the founder & editor of The Blogosphere Magazine which was exciting to know, and who I was most gutted about missing. There was also Sam from MadeFromBeauty_ who I haven’t seen before through Social Media, but she’s totally winning over on Instagram with here photos.
All in all, I had such a fun evening, and it was all down to Emma from Capital South Coast who arranged this. I walked away feeling a little more inspired (even though this event wasn’t towards Bloggers.) I had a fab evening, and had a few samples and testers to try out. I’d be going to the next one, and I’m looking forward to it too! If it wasn’t for my good pal Emily, I would never have gone to one event – let alone the ones I am going to now. So thank you doll. <3
