As you all know I’m a subscriber to The Look Fantastic Beauty Box. For any of you that don’t know much about their subscription, you can sign up for 3 months, 6 or 12 – these all range between £13-£15 a month. They collaborate with so many amazing brands, and so far I’ve been super happy with every month. I decided to join them at the beginning of the year.
Let me just say the Elle Edition was my total favourite.
This month we have the Get The Glow Edition. My first thoughts on these products? Not the best, which I’m totally gutted about. I have been thinking about ending my subscription with Look Fantastic where I’d like to try some other Beauty Subscription boxes. I have tried GlossyBox and a little bit of me wants to go back, however I never seemed pleased with them at the time. I’d love to give BirchBox a go too. Let me tell you why I was a little disappointed with this months beauty box..
Lets start off by saying that none of them really excited me, there was no brands in there that excited me neither. Here’s what’s inside..
SCRUB LOVE – COCONUT CRANBERRY BODY SCRUB
This has to be the one product that I know I’ll 100% get the use out of. I’ve wanted to try a body scrub for so long. I probably shouldn’t admit to this but I H A T E moisturising and everything like creams for the body. There is nothing I hate more than getting out of the bath and having to get dry and warm to then apply cream to make me cold again. Yano what I mean? I know this isn’t a moisturiser but this will be a life saver to my skin. It deeply penetrates the skin, and brightens. It’s for all skin types too, which will be interesting as we all know by now that I have super sensitive skin!
SYSTEM PROFESSIONAL LUXE OIL
This is all for the hair. This might be something that I could introduce to when washing my hair. I’m so so bad at pampering my hair. I recently decided that I was going to grow my hair colour out and I had super bad roots. I was using everything I can to help make them grow out faster, however I soon gave up and dyed my hair black again. Lol – standard Tay. Because I was using anything and everything on my hair to fade the colour I think this might give it some good TLC that it needs. Plus it smells divine. It’s enriched with oils to nourish and condition the hair.
GLOV HYDRO DEMAQUILLAGE QUICK TREAT
Not a brand I’ve heard of, and I’ve never seen this product before in meh life! It is made with hypoallergenic fibres to gently remove makeup and impurities, and leaves your skin healthy and glowing. Do I think I’ll reach out for this? No. Am I sure? Yes. You just remove make up with this and water. That just doesn’t sound like something I’d really use. Sorry Look Fantastic. I mean, I’ll give it a go if you guys want me to?
MELLOW BAKED EYESHADOW
When I first saw this product in the box, I atomically thought it was a highlighter. The beauty box is all about the ‘glow’ and it’s pink and shimmery. The swatch is pretty damn goooood too. It feels pretty powdery but I think I’ll give this a go as a eyeshadow as well as a highlighter/blusher. I previously had Mellow in a beauty box before, not certain it was Look Fantastic. It was a lipstick, but in a red and I ain’t no lover for a red lip. This eyeshadow is in the shade Peach, but it doesn’t look peachy to me. I’m looking forward to using this as I love eyeshadow.
JAMES READ H20 GRADUAL TAN MIST
So this is something that I’m really new to. I do love a fake tan, but I rarely do it. I never go out as much anymore to even wack out the tanning mit. So basically it’s a rose water mist that gradually builds a tan/glow to the skin. You can either use this as a base of your make up or as a setter.
Overall, I can’t say I’m overly pleased with this months beauty box. However I have my favourites of what I am excited to get using.
