HAPPY FRIDAY, YAY YAY!
Please do a little jiggle with the shoulders whilst reading that, it just makes you so ready for the weekend. Ok, not the weekend as of yet as I’ve got to drag my sorry ass to work this morning, however I’ve got a very busy weekend ahead of me. It’s the time of the year where alcohol makes a big appearance and crappy foods so this means I need to take care of my skin somehow, and that’s by handling it with care. My skin becomes super sensitive over the winter season, it’s sensitive anyway but only certain products suit my skin. I don’t like to use the same products day in and day out, I like to mix it up a little so my skin doesn’t get too use to the products and too comfortable for them not to be so reliable.
Out of the Garnier range I have the softening cleansing lotion, the softening toner and the miceller cleansing water. All products that are A ok for sensitive skin. When using a Garnier product I will use the rest along with it, I also have eye make up remover by Garnier too. (Which is amazing for removing even waterproof make up!) I like to use the Micellar Cleansing Water first which removes make up, cleanses and soothes the skin. You can use this on the face, eyes and lips – however I can’t say I’ve ever used this on my eyes. This is where the Eye Make Up Remover comes in, I place it onto a cotton pad and place the cotton pad on my eyes. I leave it pressed onto the eye to allow the product to soak into the make up. I’d use the Softening Toner next which tones and softens the skin. The product is enriched with Cherry tree and Moringa extracts. This is for normal to dry skin types. This light and velvety lotion leaves the skin toned, perfectly cleansed and feeling soft. Lastly I use the Softening Cleansing Lotion which will remove any excess make up even waterproof! I use this with a cotton pad again, using circular motions and then with the little bit left on the pad I will gently dab onto my eyes. (Be careful, the skin around the eyes is a whole lot more sensitive & tender.) This product is also enriched with Cherry tree and Moringa extracts and for normal to dry skin types. This lotion doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy, it leaves the skin feeling comfortable. It brightens the skin.
Now for The Body Shop range. This is the Vitamin E range – which I got as a little gift set in a cute pink pouch. When using the products I would start off with the Vitamin E Cream Cleanser which removes all grime and make up, it leaves your skin feeling clean and supple. Avoid using this product around the eye area. You can use this product daily, however I like to switch. This is acceptable to use on all skin types. Next I’d use the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner which *drum roll please* HYDRATES THE SKIN. That’s one point, it also removes any trace of make up and cleanser. It prepares the skin to absorb moisturiser. Lastly I would use the Vitamin E Moisture Cream which has been a favourite of mine for many years. It holds up to 48 hours of moisture infusion and is one of Body Shop’s iconic best-selling skincare! There was also another skin care product which came along inside this gift, it’s the Vitamin E Night Cream. (IT’S NEARLY ALL GONE!) I love, love, love it! It protects, replenishes and helps to prevent moisture-loss. It really plumps my skin, I even put a little on during the day for work and I’ve been complimented that my skin looks bright and plumped. It’s a non-greasy formula and suits all skin types even for you dry skin typers! Lol.
Before I actually use any of the products listed above – I am one of them lazy beauty lovers that loves a good make up wipe. I use the Simple Cleansing Wipes before using any other products. I’ve been a loyal customer to Simple for many many years. (I am also a lover for the skin care products, but at the moment I’ve ventured out to other brands.) These are the first brand that I first came across that didn’t suddenly break my skin out after using the product for however long. They’ve been loyal to my skin. *Lord, thank you.* There’s no artificial perfume or colour/dyes. No alcohol, no parabens. No harsh chemicals that can upset your skin, and have been dermatologically tested. Once used the skin is left feeling clean, fresh and hydrated. These even have the ‘aqua-lock’ which keeps every wipe fresh. (Pet hate with wipes, when the seal doesn’t ‘seal’ properly and they all end up dry as a cotton pad.) Although remember ladies, wipes don’t always do the trick of removing your make up. It’s been proven to only remove the first or so layers. (Grim.)
So the winter months have landed chums. There is no worst thing than having chapped lips. No, not pretty – fricking ugly. We all get sore, chapped lips – we’re only human right? However to sort this problem, I like to use Lush Cosmetics Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub for one. You basically scrub this beauty of blackcurrent onto your lips to remove any dry skin. You want to buff the lips. Got a little excess? Just lick your lips. Afterwards I add a little lip butter and oil. I use both products by The Body Shop. (Again, I know.) This way my lips stay super soft and hydrated ready for the bright red pucker lips for every #FOTD selfie.
Glowing skin is a result of proper skincare.
It means you can wear less make up
& let skin shine through.
Looking after your skin is a pretty important thing in life. If you don’t want wrinkles and can’t afford a little botox than you need to take care of your skin which includes
EVERRRRYYYYYDAY. ( As much as you can really.)
If you haven’t already I have done a post in the past about my skin care routine with the Vitamin E Range from The Body Shop which you can find by clicking here. If not, let me know what products you use in the comments below! I love it when everyone shares interests!
Come on, share your products and what’s in your Winter skincare routine below!
