PRIMARK PS BRUSHES

Do you ever see people crazing over something that you automatically think you need to try out? I've been loving the look of these oval brushes that everyones been using to apply their make up. I thought they were so unique and so different, I needed to give them a try. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a set or anything. I noticed that people were picking them up from Primark! Yes Primark. People have been raving how good Primarks make up is too, which I'm still yet to give it a try. However, when I was in London I finally saw the brushes and only picked up two. I wanted a small one for concealer and a medium sized one for contouring/bronzer. So that's what I did! Here's my thoughts..

I can not seem to work them. I just don't get them. I see so many people raving how they're becoming their holy grails and etc, but I just D O N ' T G E T T H E M. I did exactly what I said I wanted to do with them, a smaller one for concealer around my eyes and jaw line and the medium sized brush for contouring. Contouring was ok, it went onto the skin well and blended ok 'ish'. I just wanted to go over it again using my bronzer Real Techniques brush. I just felt like it wasn't blending well enough with my foundation, it was giving me the line. Which is a big - no,no.
However, for the smaller brush.. using it to apply my concealer. It didn't blend it in at all, it was just giving me the lines from the bristles. Like, I couldn't leave it like that, I just ended up reaching out for my beauty blender to finish the mess it started.
OUTCOME
I totally get that they're Primark. They wouldn't be as good as other brands, when you're spending out more. However,  I don't think it's down to that, I just couldn't get them to work. I won't be purchasing anymore, and I'll certainly carry on with my usual brushes - which are the Nude by Nature Brushes Set. Either they're not as good as what people are making them out to be, or I'm not at good as make up as I was hoping!

Have you used these type of brushes before, or even from Primark?
What's your thoughts, any tips you got?

  1. I had some brushes like this sent to me and just couldn't work with them. They felt quite densely packed yet soft and really quite sturdy, but they just didn't work the way I expected. I mean to a certain extent its trial and error but I just wasn't in love with the results.

  2. I've been seeing these oval type brushes everywhere for so long and I have really wanted to try some but just wasn't sure how I would use them? I've only ever tried an eyeliner pen from primark that I received in my Glossybox and I don't know if I just got a bad one but I couldn't even use it as it hurt my eye! So I'm not keen on things from primark but I'm definitely going to steer clear of these now! Thanks for sharing such an honest review :) your blog is so pretty
